We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to campus for Alumni & Families Weekend. To make your check-in process as smooth as possible, please review the information below prior to your arrival.

All registrants who provided an email address will receive an email that includes a QR code for each registrant. Please print your confirmation email or be ready to pull it up on your phone when you arrive to check-in at the Welcome Center located at the University Student Center. The subject line of the email is “GW Alumni & Families Weekend Confirmation” and is sent by [email protected].

All attendees, including alumni, families, students, faculty, and staff, are required to check in at the University Student Center to receive your name badge before participating in events. Keep reading this page for specific instructions.

Checking in at the Welcome Center

The Welcome Center is located on the first floor of the University Student Center at 800 21st Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

It is important that all attendees arrive at the Welcome Center with a print or digital copy of your confirmation email with QR codes.

The Welcome Center will be open during the following hours for attendees to check in and print name badges:

  • Friday, October 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • The Welcome Center will not be open on Sunday, October 20.

All attendees are encouraged to enter the Welcome Center through the 21st Street entrance of the University Student Center where you will be directed to officially check in and print your event name badge and pick up your special Alumni & Families Weekend gift. Once you have printed your name badge, you will exit through the doors on the H Street side of the building.

Your name badge will provide access to all of the events you are registered for. It is important to keep your name badge with you at all times.

If you lose your name badge, you must return to the Welcome Center and visit the Help Desk for assistance.

If you have any questions during the check-in process, GW staff and volunteers will be available at the Welcome Center to provide directions and guidance to visitors.
