Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

When does registration open?

Registration will open on Monday, August 31.

What if no matches are found for my name in the registration system?

If you don't see your name or if you see multiple names and aren't sure which one is you, that’s perfectly fine. Just click the “I do not appear to be listed” button and proceed to enter your information.

Do students need to register?

Yes. Students must register if they plan to attend any Alumni & Families Weekend events.

Can I bring my children to Alumni & Families Weekend?

Yes. Children are welcome at most events. The only events that may not be appropriate for children are the All‑Alumni Party and GW Program Board’s Annual Fall Comedy Show.

How much does registration cost?

Registration for Alumni & Families Weekend is free.

Some events have an additional per‑person cost (including food and beverages):

  • All-Alumni Kickoff Party: $25 (ages 21+ suggested)
  • General George’s Alumni Biergarten: $25 for adults / $15 for children ages 12 and under
  • Class Reunion Parties: $35
  • Buff & Blue Brunch: $25 for adults / $15 for children ages 12 and under

How can I edit my registration later?

To add guests or events, click “Update My Registration” at the bottom of your confirmation email. Please note: You cannot remove events once registered.

If you don't have your confirmation email handy, you can also visit gwu.events.alumniq.com/update to update your registration.

What if I purchased basketball tickets through Ticketmaster but want to move to the alumni or families seating sections?

Please contact the Athletics department at ticketsatgwu [dot] edu (tickets[at]gwu[dot]edu) to request new seats.

How can I see what I registered for?

Your confirmation email includes the events selected for you and each member of your party. It will come from gwuatreunioniq [dot] com with the subject line “GW Alumni & Families Weekend Confirmation.”

What if I lost my registration confirmation email?

Search your inbox—including spam/junk—for an email from gwuatreunioniq [dot] com with the subject “GW Alumni & Families Weekend Confirmation.” If you still cannot locate it, email alumniatgwu [dot] edu (alumni[at]gwu[dot]edu) before AFW or visit the Help Desk at the Welcome Center during AFW for assistance.

When does registration close?

Online registration remains open throughout the weekend to support walk‑ins and mobile registration. However, because some events have limited capacity and certain discounts are available only before the weekend, early registration is strongly encouraged.

What is GW’s cancellation/refund policy?

All event transactions are final; ticket purchases for Alumni & Families Weekend events are non-refundable.
